COMMON QUESTIONS

Answers for Clients and Their Loved Ones

IS WHAT I SAY DURING MY TREATMENT CONFIDENTIAL?

Confidentiality is a respected part of psychology's code of ethics. Therapists understand that for people to feel comfortable talking about private and revealing information, they need a safe place to talk about anything they'd like, without fear of that information leaving the room.

WHAT METHODS CAN I USE TO CONTACT MY THERAPIST?

You can reach out to us by email, phone, or our Psychology Today profile.  Please see the "Contact" tab for more information.

CAN I BRING FAMILY MEMBERS OR FRIENDS TO TREATMENT?

Family sessions are a type of counseling that can help family members improve communication and resolve conflicts. During a family therapy session, therapists may talk with the family as a group, as individuals, or as a combination of the two. A typical therapy session is around 50 minutes long, per clinical necessity, and with a signed Release of Information Agreement with the client.
